Willis "Bill" Anderson

Willis was born in St. Paul, on October 22, 1950, to Willis S. and Dorothy J. (Norton)
Anderson. He passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones on May 26,
2016. He is survived by Veronica, his loving wife of 38 years; Daughter Sue (Keith);
Grandchildren Brandon and Veronica; Sister Dorothy (Richard); Nieces Jane (Jamie) and
Sarah (John); Grandnephew Andrew, and many other relatives and loving friends.

Willis, known by his friends as Bill, graduated from North High School in Maplewood,
Minnesota, where he played trombone in the marching band and was an active member
of the Amateur Radio Club. As an Amateur Radio enthusiast (WA0TCO), he received his
first Public Service Award in 1979. He grew up helping his father’s cabinet-making
business and their work can still be seen in many St. Paul homes and churches. Willis
received his graduate degree (MBA), in 1987, from the College of St. Thomas. His travels
spanned more than 26 countries and he lived in several Asian countries while serving as
an Engineer for various US corporations. Over the course of his career, he received
recognition and awards for his work in product engineering failure analysis.

He founded and operated Minnesota Automated Technologies until 1998, when he
suffered a massive stroke.

Willis enjoyed running and participated in 9 marathons around the world, completing the
Twin Cities Marathon in 1986. Known for his outgoing and charming personality, Willis
remained compassionate and courageous to the end, helping and praying with those in
need wherever he stayed. He was active in fundraising activities for the MN Stroke
Association and the MN Brain Injury Association. A beloved, gentle man, who will be
missed by many who knew him well.

A private memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Courage
Kenny Rehabilitation Institute; 3915, Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, MN 55422.
