While riding his bicycle on a county road in Washington County, Minnesota, Dean was killed by a hit and run driver. He is buried in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Mahtomedi, Minnesota.

I agree, Dean WAS one of the nicest persons I knew at North. I always told him that his graduation picture was a "perfect reflection of who he was". Look at it...that was Dean!
Dean "the soul man" and I worked at Target in No. St. Paul and rented an apartment together while in college. We had great fun, and got along well as long as I didn't touch his stash of oreos. Saw him regularly until the accident. My job put me there, and I drew the painful duty of delivering the death message. The only good news is that he went while riding his mountain bike, a sport he loved, Dean was a true friend and I miss him.
