Age 59 of Eden Prairie Passed away peacefully at his home on February 20, 2011, surrounded by family after three courageous years of battling cancer. Survived by wife of 38 years, Diana; sons, Jason (Mary) of Shorewood, Justin (Shanna) of Minnetrista, and Jeremy of Eden Prairie. He was a devoted "Papa" to grandsons, Robert Preston, Gavin and Vincent. Also survived by siblings, Sue, Nancy, John, and Bill. Preceded in death by parents, Robert "Bob" and Laura "Lol" Ballsrud. Born in St. Paul, Rick was a graduate of North St. Paul High School, Minnesota State University, and the University of Minnesota Graduate School. He spent 35 years working in the investment management industry prior to his retirement in 2009. Rick enjoyed traveling with Diana, spending time with his grandsons, and golfing with his friends.
